Can you believe it’s been decades since the cult classic film “Now and Then” was released? The movie begins with four adult friends — Chrissy, Samantha, Roberta, and Tina “Teeny” — who return to their childhood hometown and reconnect after 25 years. Like old friends do, they reminiscence about one memorable 1970s summer, when they were dealing with the struggles of adolescence — plus accidentally resurrecting a spirit while holding a séance in a cemetery. Oops! As they figure out what happened to the boy who died decades earlier, they go through their own problems and drift apart. Until, finally, life brings them back together, and they remember the importance of staying connected with close friends as you age.
Written by “Pretty Little Liars” creator I. Marlene King, the 1995 movie is packed with celebrities. The young actors in the film include “The Addams Family” star Christina Ricci, “Hocus Pocus” star Thora Birch, “Field of Dreams” star Gaby Hoffman, and “The Odyssey” star Ashleigh Aston Moore, who tragically died in 2007 at 26 years old. The adult actors are “G.I. Jane” star Demi Moore, “Working Girl” star Melanie Griffith, “Sleepless in Seattle” actor Rita Wilson, and “A League of Their Own” actor Rosie O’Donnell.
Over 30 years after the film came out, these actors have grown up. Like other famous ’90s actors, many of these women are practically unrecognizable today. For example, O’Donnell has had an effortless gray hair transformation over the years, and Wilson has totally changed her hair, too. Others have gone through other changes; although, they are all just as beautiful as they were in “Now and Then.”
Christina Ricci was pretty as a young Roberta and gorgeous all grown up

Young Roberta, the tomboy of the group, was played by Christina Ricci in “Now and Then.” As a teen, she had a youthful exuberance and glowing energy at the “Now and Then” premiere in 1995. Thirty years later, Ricci was just as gorgeous in a photo taken at the 5th Annual Academy Museum Gala in 2025. With her straight brown hair, parted on the side, and stunning black dress, it’s clear she is no longer a child star (but still just as beautiful, of course).
Thora Birch has the same blond hair as when she played a young Teeny

As the young Tina “Teeny” Tercell in “Now and Then,” actor Thora Birch was the cutest little rich girl in the 1995 film. Birch had a soft smile and dark blond hair in a portrait taken in 1996 for her film “Alaska.” She was all grown up in a photo taken on the red carpet for The Abbey’s 35th Anniversary event in 2026. She had the same soft smile and similar dark blond hair, just cut in a short bob with long bangs parted on the side.
Gabby Hoffman’s hair has changed the most since she played a young Samantha

Gabby Hoffman starred as a young Samantha in “Now and Then,” and she rocked subtle makeup and long, straight hair in a portrait for the film taken in 1995. Over 30 years later, Hoffman really came into her own as shown in a photo from the New York Film Critics Circle Awards in 2026. Her minimal makeup style hadn’t changed much in the newer photo, but her hair was much more voluminous and curly, giving her an authentic, natural-looking vibe.
Demi Moore was just as beautiful in 2026 as when she played Samantha

Back in 1995, Demi Moore acted as the adult version of Samantha in “Now and Then.” In a glamorous headshot taken from the same year, Moore was gorgeous with her hair in a textured updo and her ears studded with diamonds. In a picture taken at the 79th Annual Cannes Film Festival in 2026, Moore looked just as stunning sporting a diamond necklace, with her brunette hair curled around her shoulders.
Rosie O’Donnell has had a glow-up since playing Roberta

Thirty-one years after “Now and Then,” Rosie O’Donnell looked better than ever. The actor and comedian, who played the adult Roberta in the 1995 film, let her natural brunette hair go gray in a picture at the SiriusXM Studios in 2026. This is a stark contrast to her brown curls in a photo taken at the New York Premiere of “To Wong Fu, Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar” in 1995. Even her makeup style changed, with O’Donnell sporting darker eyeliner and glossy pink lips in 2026.
Melanie Griffith is still glamorous decades after playing Teeny

Melanie Griffith was the beautiful adult version of Tina “Teeny” Tercell in the 1995 film. She still looked stunning in 2024, after more than 30 years in the industry. Griffith had a short, curly bob of blond hair at the Revlon Run/Walk for Women’s Cancer Research in 1995. This was slightly different from the photo from “An Unforgettable Evening” benefitting the Women’s Cancer Research Fund in 2024, with her blond hair looking gorgeous in a straight bob that framed her face.
Rita Wilson has aged like fine wine since she played Chrissy

If Rita Wilson played the adult Chrissy in a 2026 version of “Now and Then,” you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between that and her performance in the original 1995 film. That’s because Wilson doesn’t seem to have aged a day in the 31 years in between. Just compare the picture taken from a scene in “Now and Then,” and a photo taken at the Broadway opening of “Celebrity Autobiography” in 2026. Other than her hair, which was highlighted blond, Wilson looked practically the same.
