Maisie Williams may be best known for her role as Arya Stark in Game of Thrones, but the actor will be dipping her toes back in the fantasy genre for Practical Magic 2. And in even better news, she’s teased that it will be worth the wait.
The long-awaited sequel to the 1998 film is based on Alice Hoffman’s 2021 novel The Book of Magic, and sees Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman reprise their respective roles as Sally and Gillian Owens.
The follow-up is set 25 years later, with Joey King and Williams taking over the roles of Sally’s daughters, Kylie and Antonia. A new crisis strikes the Owens family, and the clan must band together to quell evil forces.

Ahead of its release in September, Williams spoke exclusively with Digital Spy about the upcoming film, and shared that she was in awe at getting to work with Hollywood icons such as Bullock and Kidman.
“I feel like I blacked out the first time I met them,” she quipped. “I came back around, and I was in the car going home and I just thought, ‘Whoa what just happened’. They are just amazing and just had so much fun with both of them.”
The actor also paid tribute to co-stars Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest as she dubbed it a “dream job”, before teasing: “I really do think the fans are going to love it, and I can’t wait to start promoting it. It’s going to be a really fun few months.”
Williams was speaking to Digital Spy as part of the press tour for 500 Miles, Morgan Matthews’ road-trip drama that is an adaptation of Mark Lowery’s 2018 novel, Charlie and Me: 421 Miles from Home.
The film follows two young boys (played by Roman Griffin Davis and Dexter Sol Ansell) as they venture across Ireland to visit their grandfather (played by Bill Nighy), who has been estranged from the family for years.

Williams, who plays Kait in the coming-of-age drama, recalled her on-set experience with Nighy, sharing: “I remember having these really beautiful and extensive chats about actually nothing to do with work.”
“[It] made sense as to why he’s had such a long and incredible career, because he’s a real good person. They do say never meet your idols, but Bill Nighy is just not an example of that. He is amazing,” she added.
Practical Magic 2 is released in cinemas on 11 September, while 500 Miles is out now in UK cinemas
