Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, the famously private twins who have turned staying out of the spotlight into an art form, resurfaced over the weekend in rare family photos from their older brother Trent’s wedding.
The pictures, shared on Instagram by Trent, 42, and his wife, Alexis, quickly spread across social media, delighting longtime Olsen fans. Dressed in matching floor-length black dresses, the 40-year-old actors-turned-fashion designers joined their family for a large group portrait, smiling alongside Trent, Alexis, and their siblings.
It was a true Olsen reunion. Ashley attended with her husband, artist Louis Eisner, while their younger sister, Elizabeth Olsen, 37, was there with her husband, musician Robbie Arnett. The newlyweds’ photos also included the Olsens’ half-siblings, Courtney and Jake, bringing together nearly the entire blended family.
Dave Olsen and Jarnette Olsen are parents of Trent, Mary-Kate, Ashley and Elizabeth. After their divorce in 1995, Dave remarried McKenzie Olsen. The couple later welcomed two children, Courtney, born in 1997, and Jake, born in 1998.
Although their final film together was 2004’s “New York Minute,” the twins gradually stepped away from Hollywood over the following years to focus on building their fashion empire. By 2012, they had publicly confirmed they were retiring from acting to devote themselves to fashion full time, ultimately pouring their energy into The Row, the luxury label they founded in 2006.
In a rare 2021 interview with i-D, they reflected on the private life they’ve intentionally built.
“We were raised to be discreet people,” Mary-Kate said, while Ashley added that when launching The Row, “We didn’t want to be in front of it. It was really about the product.”
That same discretion has long defined their personal lives.
Ashley quietly married Eisner in 2022, and the couple welcomed a son, Otto, the following year, according to multiple reports. Mary-Kate was similarly private throughout her marriage to French banker Olivier Sarkozy, which lasted from 2015 until their divorce was finalized in 2021.
