Shoot the People follows renowned photographer and Oscar-nominated filmmaker Misan Harriman as he documents global protest movements driving social change, from the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests to the Palestinian liberation movement.

The film is directed by BAFTA-winning filmmaker Andy Mundy-Castle, who has spoken powerfully about coming from a council estate in Brixton and breaking into an industry that has not always made space for filmmakers from his background.

Released in UK and Irish cinemas from 6 July 2026, Shoot the People follows Harriman’s work across human rights, freedom of speech, Black Lives Matter, Palestine, feminism and contemporary protest movements, exploring how photography can document resistance and help shape public consciousness.
