Stephen Graham’s “groundbreaking” new project has announced a whole host of famous faces that are taking part, with stars from TV and film, sport, comedy and music all contributing.
After the huge success of Adolescence last year, Graham announced Letters to Our Sons, a book designed “continue the conversation” regarding toxic masculinity.
The project, from Graham and psychology lecturer Orly Klein, contains letters from multiple fathers from around the world to their sons about the various ways it “means to be a man”.

It’s now been confirmed that the book will be released on Thursday, 24 September, while the celebrity dads who have penned letters have also been announced.
The list includes actors Danny Dyer, Javier Bardem, Daniel Mays, Michael Socha, Ashley Walters and Riz Ahmed, Olympian Tom Daley, football stars Chris Kamara and Jamie Redknapp, writer Jack Thorne, comedian Romesh Ranganathan, presenter Jeff Brazier, musician Goldie, Educating Yorkshire’s Matthew Burton, and documentary-maker Louis Theroux.
On the Wednesday and Thursday of release week, Graham and Klein will host live events at Liverpool’s Playhouse and Westminster’s Central Hall, respectively.
They’ll be sharing letters on stage and bringing along some special guests, with tickets set to go on sale this Friday.

“We have been overwhelmed by the response to Stephen and Orly’s call-out, which prompted dads from all backgrounds and with a huge range of experiences to write in,” said Katy Follain, the head of Bloomsbury General.
“And to have fathers in the public eye now contributing too adds to the incredibly powerful messaging of this unique book: we are all in this together, whatever our status and profession. It shows how parenting is the great leveller and how we can learn from one another, and we are truly touched to have so many voices come together for this era-defining collection.
“The events in Liverpool and London will be inspiring, moving and entertaining, and we look forward to fathers coming together to celebrate and share their personal stories.”
Letters to Our Sons will be released on 24 September.
