Spider-Man: Brand New Day is releasing this month, and fans will finally find out just who it is that the Stranger Things star Sadie Sink is playing. Rumours say it’s Jean Grey of X-Men fame, but she’s previously stated that it may not be that obvious.
In a profile piece for Nylon, Sink talked about what it was like joining such a major franchise and having such a crazy amount of speculation about her role.
“I knew that Marvel was a big deal and had a big brand, especially Spider-Man. I know there’s a huge fan base, but it feels really big,” she said. “I think these blockbuster movies are a whole different beast.”

She had nothing but praise for the film’s leading actor Tom Holland, who she said helped her feel relaxed as she entered into the wild world of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
“It was interesting stepping into that space and being a little bit of an outsider in that way,” she said, “but he could not have been more welcoming, and just the whole crew in general.
“He was just so relaxed and open, and I felt very at ease.”
Although she’s been in the hugely successful Stranger Things on the small screen, and her new film Brand New Day is set to be a massive success on the big screen, it’s not TV or film where Sink’s heart is.

“I think theater will always be a priority for me,” the actor explained. “I love filming TV, too, and there’s so many things that I want to do in that space as well, but I think the work that I have [accomplished] just in the last two plays that I’ve done, it feels like, I don’t know, it just feels right.”
Sink just wrapped up a run of Romeo & Juliet in London with Noah Jupe, and completed a stint in Arthur Miller’s John Proctor is the Villain. She’s also already been announced for another TV project, an adaptation of Jeffrey Eugenides’s The Marriage Plot.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is released in cinemas on 31 July.
