Running at 90 minutes, it was released on June 19 and has already drawn attention for its raw, uncompromising look at life on the margins.

The story follows Effi, a young woman stuck in a cycle of unemployment, nights out and heavy comedowns. A chance meeting in a Llandudno nightclub with injured soldier Lee briefly offers her a glimpse of something better — but the reality that follows is far tougher, exposing the personal cost of a system stretched to breaking point.

Leisa Gwenllian leads the cast alongside Tom Rhys Harries and Owen Alu.

The film, in Welsh with English subtitles, can be seen at the Scala on July 14 at 7.55pm and on July 15 at 5pm.
