Meghan, Archie and Lilibet were initially set to miss the trip
Princess Diana’s brother Charles Spencer has released a stunning photo on social media hours after Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and their children Archie and Lilibet held a crucial meeting with King Charles in Britain.
King Charles hosted Harry and met with his family for the first time in years on Friday as they try to repair a rift that has persisted since a public, high-profile falling out that saw his youngest son and wife quit royal life and move to America six years ago.
Palace confirmed the private family gathering but released no photographs.
According to AFP, Harry arrived in the UK on Monday in a visit to mark the one-year countdown to next year’s Invictus Games for wounded veterans, which he founded.
Meghan, Archie and Lilibet were initially set to miss the trip – reportedly because they were refused police protection.
Hours after meeting, Charles Spencer took to Instagram and shared his photo with today’s Telegraph newspaper in his hands.
He shared the photo as England is set to lock horns with Norway in a World Cup quarter-final in Miami on Saturday.
He says, “Written in red at the top of today’s @telegraph – how so many Englishmen (like me) with Norwegian wives must be feeling today, with the @fifaworldcup match between @england and @norwayfootballteam in prospect tonight.”
He continued, “It’s similar trepidation to what coastal Anglo-Saxons must have experienced 1200 years ago, when longboat sails were spotted on the horizon….”
