StarCars was founded by Paul Gannon from Billinge after he saw a gap in the market to offer only Gold Standard drivers, with a quick booking system. They are also delivering mental health training for drivers in St Helens and surrounding areas.

The 44-year-old said: “Everyone needs to know they feel safe and supported when they get in a taxi, we offer mental health training to all our drivers and we are securely booked so people know who is getting them with all the details of the driver – who are all from St Helens.

“They can feel safe and secure and honestly I think that’s why we have a celebrity following already; we have an active social media page so people can see we’ve picked up the likes of Mel, C, and her mum, Johnny Vegas, Kerry Katona, Katie Price, Chris Hughes from Big Brother and they’ve all been really happy with the service.

“I wanted to bring something different to St Helens, and after speaking to Chris Hughes about it he explained how important it is to be open and honest about mental health struggles.
“I’ve suffered with anxiety, and I know he has and lots of people do, you can spend quite a bit of time being driven around in a taxi, and having gold standard rated drivers trained to listen to you and have the security that it’s a secure booking will ease any anxiety I think.
“I’m excited to see what the future will bring. We’ve already taken on more drivers and I’m really happy with how its all going. Watch this space.”
