Princess of Wales Kate Middleton is the official patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, which hosts the Wimbledon Championships, so, obviously, she attends the tournament every year (someone has to give the finals winners their trophies, after all). In recent years, the Wimbledon finals have become something of an annual family outing for all the Waleses but one — Prince Louis. Does the kid just hate tennis? Is he poorly behaved? Is it a space issue?

On Sunday, Prince William joined Kate and their kids, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, to watch the men’s singles finals from the Royal Box, as usual. And, as usual, Louis was absent. The rest of the royal family received a standing ovation as they took their seats beside the other A-listers like Anna Wintour, Nicole Kidman, and Jennifer Lopez. Princess Kate wore a forest green Emilia Wickstead cape dress. Charlotte, 11, seems to take her style cues from her mom, and wore a navy blue dress, while George and William wore dark suits and ties.
We don’t know what Louis was wearing on Sunday, because he wasn’t there. Even though, at 8-years-old, he is the same age his siblings were when they attended their first Wimbledon championships. And in 2023, at least, we were told that Louis was disappointed not to be able to attend with his siblings. “Louis was very upset he wasn’t coming today,” Kate reportedly said. Apparently, he even wanted to be a ball boy.
Who knows, maybe in the past three years, Louis has decided his true passion is polo and he no longer cares about tennis.
