Even though she’s been pretty busy running a beauty empire and being a mother of three, Rihanna is still a singer. She reminded everyone of that fact on Sunday night when she came out for the final show of Jay-Z’s three-night residency at Yankee Stadium. After significant delays caused the show to start after midnight, Rihanna surprised fans by performing two songs alongside the rapper.

About halfway through the concert, Rihanna came out to sing “Run This Town” with Jay-Z. She followed that up by performing “Bitch Better Have My Money” to the sold-out stadium. If you’re hoping that getting back onstage might be the push Rihanna needed to get back in that dang studio, you might be in luck. At the end of “Bitch Better Have My Money,” she told the crowd, “Oh my God, I missed this shit, y’all.”

The last time we got to see Rihanna sing was in 2023, when she headlined the Super Bowl halftime show and then a month later performed “Lift Me Up” at the Oscars. Such a momentous occasion requires a cheering section. Spotted in the crowd were her partner, A$AP Rocky, and their 9-month-old daughter, Rocki.

In addition to Rihanna, Jay-Z brought out Teyana Taylor, Usher, Pharrell, The-Dream, Clipse, Jadakiss, Fat Joe, Jeezy, and Swizz Beatz. Oh, and Beyoncé came out in a sequined Yankees outfit to sing “Drunk in Love,” obviously.

Yes, concertgoers had to wait three hours for the show to start and it didn’t end until 3 a.m. But it sort of seems like it was worth it? I mean, you got to see Rihanna do “Bitch Better Have My Money” in the year 2026. If that doesn’t keep the energy up, then I don’t know what will.
