Are you the lucky woman to help Role Model live out his Gilmore Girls fantasy? He’s the Lorelai in this situation; you would carry his baby and then disappear so he could raise a daughter all on his own. Interested? Role Model, real name Tucker Pillsbury, revealed on Jake Shane’s Therapuss podcast that his ideal familial setup is being a single father to a daughter.
“My dream has always been to be a single father, and to have a daughter, and to raise a daughter by myself would be really fun,” Role Model said. He’s even picked out a name already, telling Shane, “Her name’s Winnie.”
How would Role Model go about becoming a single father? He’s got a plan. “I want a daughter that’s ideally mine and then I thank whoever had it for me,” he said. “Maybe I give them a Venmo. I pay them. Shake their hand.” The singer also added that the person who carried the child could see her “once a year, if you want” but then backtracked, wondering if that would be “destructive for the kid.” At least he’s considering his imaginary daughter’s emotional health.
As for why this appeals to Role Model, a handsome 29-year-old who is rumored to be dating Dakota Johnson, he just thinks it sounds cool to have a mini-me. “I just want to raise a child by myself because then you can kind of just, like, mold them into your best friend,” he said. “I just think that’d be really fun.” He did not say what would happen if the child were a boy. Maybe it would be one of those situations where he’s the boy’s best friend but the boy isn’t his best friend.
In case you were wondering, Shane’s reaction to all of this is a big sigh — very appropriate. Unfortunately, I’m very charmed by Role Model and think this is just the kind of thing that men say when they haven’t really put that much thought into it. Either that, or he saw Paper Moon recently and felt inspired.
