Celebrity Parents Who Won’t Post Pics Of Their Kiddos Online

While some celebs shine a spotlight on their kiddos from the first ultrasound through their college graduation, others take a different approach. When privacy becomes an issue, these famous parents keep their little ones out of the public eye. Whether they absolutely refuse to post pics on social media or get creative with emojis, here are 15 celebrity moms and dads who won’t reveal their children’s identities online and why some stars just don’t care to share.1. Kristen Bell and her husband, Dax Shepherd, do more than just keep their kiddos out of social media posts.

The celeb parents took a stand against paparazzi snapping pics of their kids (the couple has two daughters, Lincoln and Delta) early on. Over 12 years ago, the pair started the “No Kids” policy, telling Ellen DeGeneres in 2014, “We just wanted to kind of start a public conversation about the fact that children under no circumstance should be followed by strangers, with or without a camera.”

Of their fame and their children, Bell added, “And we made these decisions that we became public figures, and we understand what’s going on, but they don’t…Minors deserve their anonymity until they choose otherwise.”

2. Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher don’t want images of their children “out there.”

Back in 2017, Ashton Kutcher told Arianna Huffington on the Thrive Global Podcast, “We don’t share any photos of our kids publicly because we actually feel like being public is a personal choice…My wife and I have chosen a career where we’re in the public light, but my kids have not.”

The actor added, “So, I think they should have the right to choose that, and I actually don’t think that they should have images of them as children that are out there,” and went on to say, “It’s their private life. It’s not mine to give away.”

The dad of two has two children: a 15-year-old son, Flynn, with ex-wife Miranda Kerr, and a 5-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove, with ex Katy Perry. And while he occasionally posts photos of both kiddos online, he doesn’t show their faces.

4. Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling are notoriously private about their family.

Mendes and Gosling are parents to 11-year-old daughter Esmeralda and 10-year-old Amada. In 2020, Mendes explained to a fan in a since-deleted Instagram post, “I have always had a clear boundary when it comes to my man and my kids. I’ll talk about them, of course, with limits, but I won’t post pictures of our daily life.”

Like other celebrity parents, Mendes feels her children need to give their okay first, explaining in her Instagram comment, “I won’t post their image until they’re old enough to give me consent.”

5. George Clonney is worried about safety.

George and Amal Clooney are parents to nine-year-old twins Alexander and Ella. But you won’t see photos of these two anywhere. That’s because Clooney has taken a stand for the safety of his family.

In 2021, the actor explained to the media in an open letter, “I am a public figure and accept the oftentimes intrusive photos as part of the price to pay for doing my job. Our children have made no such commitment.”

The actress and the performer are parents to 11-year-old Silas and five-year-old Phineas. Last year, Biel told InStyle, “It’s a tricky one, a tricky balance. We do try really hard not to expose them in a way that they’re not comfortable with.”

7. Mindy Kaling is another celebrity parent who is all about consent.

Kaling opened up to PEOPLE in 2021, revealing, “I have no judgment for people in the public eye who share photos and videos of their children. My sense is that [my kids] have no real consent right now to do that.”

Fast forward to 2026, and Kaling does post the occasional pic or video of her kids (eight-year-old Katherine, five-year-old Spencer, and two-year-old Anne) on Instagram. But these shares are typically from the back, hiding her children’s faces.

8. Adele wants her son Angelo to have a normal childhood.

The singer is incredibly protective of her child’s privacy. And for a very good reason. In 2014, then-one-year-old Angelo won a five-figure sum in a lawsuit against photo agency Corbix Images, U.K.

9. Gigi Hadid doesn’t want her daughter to worry about her public image.

Hadid, who shares a 5-year-old daughter, Khai, with Zayn Malik, opened up about keeping her kiddo private on her Instagram Stories in 2021, writing, “You know we have never intentionally shared our daughter’s face on social media. Our wish is that she can choose how to share herself with the world when she comes of age, and that she can live as normal of a childhood as possible, without worrying about a public image that she has not chosen.”

10. Ed Sheeran sets clear boundaries to keep his family safe.

The musician and his wife, Cherry Seaborn, have two daughters: Kyra and Jupiter. Shheran told 60 Minutes Australia, “It’s a constant conversation if anyone takes pictures of my kids, I go up and have a conversation and go, “Please, can you delete it?” Like, we don’t have their images everywhere. And I’d really appreciate that.”

Of course, sometimes his blunt directions backfire. Sheeran admitted that he’s had some “real arguments” when photographers kept snapping pics of his little ones.

Both of these celeb parents keep their kiddos away from social media. The couple, who share six-year-old Raddix, two-year-old Cardinal, and infant Nautas, don’t post their family’s photos of their children online.

Berry shares her family’s life publicly. But she prefers to keep her children’s faces private. The mom to 18-year-old Nahla (with Gabriel Aubry) and 12-year-old Maceo-Robert (with Olivier Martinez) posted an explanation when her children were younger, writing on Instagram, “I try to find creative ways to incorporate them into my feed because they are the biggest part of my life, but I also work very hard to keep their identities as private as I can considering they are only children.”

13. Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra keep their 4-year-old daughter Malti’s face out of the public eye.

In March, Chopra explained on the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast, “As she’s growing older, so her baby pictures we didn’t like care as much, but as she’s growing older, we’ve started to also kind of just deflect a little bit.” But that doesn’t mean they’re sharing full photos of their kiddo online. The actress also said that the couple wants to “Let her have as much anonymity as she can.”

14. Julia Roberts waited until her children were older.

Now that Roberts’ kids are adults (Hazel and Phinnaeus are 21, and Henry is 19), she has shared a few throwback pics. When her twins turned 19, Roberts dug up an old snapshot with her then-babies and posted it online.

The once-private parent who almost never shared images of her family online told Extra, “It is something to be celebrated, and I know Instagram is a place where people like to share happy things.” She added, “I love them so much, and I really did just happen to come upon this cute picture.”

15. And finally, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle moved to another country to protect their family’s privacy.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex parted ways with the rest of the royals and stepped out of the spotlight. At least, sort of. While the couple does post pics of their children, seven-year-old Prince Archie and five-year-old Princess Lillibet, they carefully camouflage their kiddos’ faces.

When critics slammed the mom for sharing photos on Instagram, Meghan clapped back. A spokesperson for the Duchess told Newsweek, “By obscuring their faces, she is demonstrating the very principle she advocates for: giving children privacy, agency, and protection in an increasingly digital world.”
