Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have made dozens of memorable red carpet appearances — both as a couple and separately — over the years.
Meghan and Harry met in 2016 after being set up on a blind date. They announced their engagement in November 2017 and made their first joint red carpet appearance at the Endeavour Fund Awards in London in February 2018.
After marrying on May 19, 2018, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made their first red carpet debut as a royal couple at the premiere of The Lion King in London in July 2019. Since then, both Meghan and Harry have had several glamorous moments on the carpet as a couple and individually.

While Meghan had previous acting appearances in various TV shows and movies, her big break came when she scored the role of paralegal-turned-attorney Rachel Zane on Suits. The first season premiered in June 2011.
In addition to her acting career, Meghan also developed a passion for humanitarian work. On Oct. 11, 2011, Meghan showed her support for the Anti-Defamation League by attending the organization’s Entertainment Industry Awards. She posed for pictures in a classic black shirt and skirt set that featured a peplum hemline with black stilettos.

Shortly after Meghan and Harry began dating, Harry seemed to embrace his significant other’s career by filming a cameo in the 2017 film Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which never made the final cut.
Harry walked the red carpet for the London premiere alongside his brother Prince William, who was also in the deleted scene. The royal brothers matched in a pair of black tuxedos on Dec. 12, 2017, and interacted with the film’s character BB-8.

A little over a year after getting married in May 2018, Meghan and Harry made their first red carpet appearance as a royal couple at the London premiere of The Lion King in London on July 14, 2019.
In addition to the premiere marking their first joint royal red carpet, it was also the first time they stepped out as parents after welcoming Prince Archie on May 6, 2019.
Meghan wore a black Jason Wu midi dress with sheer long sleeves and a sweetheart neckline. She accessorized the look with Aquazzura black heels and a matching Gucci clutch. Meanwhile, Harry looked sharp in a black tuxedo with a black bowtie.

Meghan and Harry make one of their last royal appearances

In January 2020, Meghan and Harry made the major decision to step back as senior working members of the British royal family, adding that their last day would be March 31, 2020.
For one of their last outings as senior members of the royal family, Harry and Meghan attended the Mountbatten Music Festival at Royal Albert Hall in London on March 7. Meghan turned heads in a Safiyaa red caped floor-length dress with a detachable shoulder cape. Meanwhile, Harry wore a red military uniform.

Even after Meghan and Harry stepped back from their senior duties, they have continued supporting various causes and events.
On Nov. 10, 2021, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex walked the red carpet at the Intrepid Museum in New York City for the 2021 Salute to Freedom gala ahead of Veterans Day in the U.S. and Remembrance Day in the U.K.
Meghan dazzled in a Carolina Herrera red gown with a low-cut neckline and flowing red train and Giuseppe Zanotti coordinating heels. Harry also showed up in his best attire in a Giorgio Armani tuxedo.

Embracing simple elegance

Among other important causes the royal couple support, they have prioritized their Archewell Foundation. For their work in racial justice with the foundation, they were granted the Robert F. Kennedy Ripple of Hope Award in N.Y.C. on Dec. 6, 2022.
Meghan wore a simple yet stunning custom Louis Vuitton off-the-shoulder white dress with long sleeves and a slit at the bottom center. She held hands with her husband, who matched in an elegant black suit and black tie.

Meghan glittered in gold while celebrating being named one of the Ms. Foundation’s Woman of Vision Award honorees on May 16, 2023, in N.Y.C.
The actress wore a Johanna Ortiz strapless gold quilted dress with a slit in the bottom center and a small cutout of below her chest. She fully embraced the gold look by adding gold and diamond jewelry and black heels with gold accents.
Harry supported his wife and sported a classic black suit with a blue tie.

After Meghan and Harry got married, Meghan wore a show-stopping high-necked white halter gown by Stella McCartney for her reception.
Six years after the nuptials, Meghan appeared to channel that same style when she wore an Oscar de la Renta white floor-length halter gown at the 2024 ESPY Awards on July 11, 2024 in L.A. In addition to the elegant gown, Meghan also debuted a Rodi diamond and gold ring.
Harry, who was honored with the Pat Tillman Award for Service, complemented his wife in a black suit with a black tie.

She liked the dress so much, she wore it twice! Over the years, Meghan has accumulated dresses from all sorts of designers. On Oct. 5, 2024, Meghan made a surprise appearance at the Children’s Hospital L.A. 2024 Gala.
For the event, she rewore the red Carolina Herrera gown that she previously wore to the 2021 Salute to Freedom gala. Although Meghan sported the dress for a second time, she got rid of the train and shortened up the hem.
