Spain and Argentina weren’t the only ones playing the field at the FIFA World Cup Final on Sunday; celebrity spectators and performers were, too.
The star-studded stadium presented a wide range of hair and makeup aesthetics, including Y2K-inspired smoky eyes, wild ringlets, spirited nails and beyond. Ahead, WWD breaks down a few of the most notable looks from the historic game, which saw Spain take the championship title from Argentina in a neck-and-neck match.
Madonna

Madonna honored her newly minted ambassadorship with Italian makeup brand Kiko Milano during the Topps Final Halftime Show, which saw her enter the stadium flanked by Brazilian football legends Ronaldo and Ronaldinho.
Clad in lavender and magenta hues, the “Vogue” singer tapped global makeup artistry creative director Marcelo Gutierrez to play with similar shades on her face. The result was a 2000s-esque smoky eye with rhinestone embellishments in her inner corners, a matte complexion, blurred blush, a pink lip and purple talons. The star products included Kiko Milano’s High Pigment Eyeshadow, Everlasting Eyeliner Crayon, Love Fusion 24H Misture Radiant Foundation in shade Neutral Rose and Velvet Touch Creamy Stick Blush in shades 05 and 07.

Snuggled in a private suite with her boyfriend, Timothée Chalamet, Kylie Jenner impressed a new definintion of spectator beauty, combining both her love of minimalism and the art of a subtle — yet statement-making — detail. With her favorite Otra Eyewear Hazel glasses shielding her eyes, only her tomato cheeks and rose-taupe matte lip came through on camera. As a result, all eyes were on her red hot nails that may have been quietly nodding to the team she was cheering for: Spain.
Shakira

Shakira
Shakira’s beauty was as vibrant and colorful as her halftime performance on Sunday, comprised of sparkly, sunset hues and fiery curls. Styled by hair master Jhonatan Rendon, the “Waka Waka” vocalist’s ginger-blond waves swatted around her, moving with her hips as she danced through the field with Burna Boy and a Ugandan youth dance group named Ghetto Kids. Meanwhile, Shakira’s bronzy glam and brown-taupe lip, likely crafted by her, brought a contemporary edge to the eccentric aesthetic.
Nicole Scherzinger

Nicole Scherzinger, conversely, tamed her lengthy ends to perform the official anthem of the World Cup, “Desire,” on the main stage on Sunday, pulling the inky extensions into an extra-long ponytail that protruded from the crown of her head like a fountain. The slicked style, imagined by artist Gonn Kinoshita, was not an unusual look for the performer, who also sang a duet with Robbie Williams at the Final Draw last year. Her makeup wasn’t anything out of the ordinary, either. The glam, crafted by Nadia Tayeh, featured liquid black eyeliner, lightly-blushed cheeks, bright under eyes and a glossy lip.
