This wee spot not too far from Glasgow could make for ideal day trip inspiration if you’re looking to make the most of the good weather.
That’s right, whisper it, the summer may finally be here, and there’s a stunning cafe within driving distance of Glasgow that is described as Scotland’s “dreamiest cafe”, and has already scored a celebrity fan in one of our favourite Scottish singers.
Following his iconic comeback at Glastonbury last year, everybody’s favourite Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi headed back north and chose the beautiful Gorse Cafe at Comrie Croft as his spot to relax after what was a hugely emotional performance.
The star was pictured smiling as he posed for a photo at the rural cafe with a wee thumbs up. The popular spot recently opened at Comrie Croft near Crieff, which lies just over an hour’s drive from Glasgow, and offers an Instagrammable day out for those looking for a fun road trip.

Described as a farm “reimagined for the 21st Century”, the Croft recently opened the cafe, which is named for the coconut-smelling yellow flowers that spring up around Scotland in spring and summer.
Loved by the influencer generation, who describe it as “Scotland’s dreamiest”, the venue is packed with stylish natural wood interiors and fairy lights, giving it a whimsical feel that is relaxing and cosy.
You can grab hot drinks and fresh baked goods, and with both an indoor area and covered outdoor areas, even if the clouds do rear their ugly heads, it shouldn’t be a hinderance, there is no reservations needed meaning you can just “drop by and indulge”.
Using only fresh, wildlife-friendly produce from Tomnah’a Market Garden, the team say they offer a delicious array of homemade lunches and treats, with cakes, pastries, salads, soups, pies on offer, with local suppliers used for the majority of the ingredients.

And to make a day of it, you can enjoy what the croft has to offer once you’ve enjoyed the local produce, with their Highland bikepacking adventure, where they will fully kit you out, to enjoy a cycle through ancient woodlands, wild glens and lochside trails, with everything from bikes and bags to route planning and local tips sorted for you.
Fancy a wild swim? They cater for that too. While their Nowhere Sauna is their handcrafted wood fired sauna, which you can enjoy with some hot and cold therapy by coupling it with their burn-fed plunge bath or waterfall bucket shower.
Staying in the area
While Comrie Croft offer a range of options should you want to stay on the farm, the area itself has plenty of holiday cottages, including the likes of the Feus Holiday Cottage in nearby Auchterarder, the idyllic Fordie East Cottage not far from Comrie, or the luxurious Turret At Inchglas.
