In an interview with Evan Ross Katz, Jennifer Garner talks about her experience with the paparazzi. It’s really interesting because Jennifer Garner rose to fame while traditional media dominated, then she was married to Ben Affleck (a paparazzi heatscore) during the peak blog era, and she transitioned very smoothly to social media.
I believe everything she says about the way she is and was followed and how dangerous it is. To me, the unanswered question is: why Jennifer Garner, specifically? As she notes, Ben and Matt were not followed in the same way and she had neighbours who were more famous than her. She herself has done nothing scandalous, most of the time she’s just walking to and from her car. But there must be market for these photos if she’s had the same pap assigned to her for 20 years. What is it about Jennifer Garner that has made her such a consistent target?
Have you watched the clip of Marcello Hernandez and Kevin Hart on The Today Show? I imagine it’s hard to kill on morning TV but Marcello does a great bit. Al Roker couldn’t contain himself and Kevin Hart was thoroughly enjoying it.
Elon Musk is throwing a tantrum over The Odyssey and saying his AI company will make an Odyssey movie, too! Completely normal and not unhinged behaviour, billionaires are so well-adjusted. And the thing is, he will then have bots drive up the “viewership” and claim victory. Maybe he should put this effort into making a friend. Just one friend. Start with a small goal: “get a person who is not financially dependent on me to text me back this month.”
