EMERYVILLE — Amid a wide-ranging restructuring of Disney, Pixar will cut an estimated 108 jobs in Emeryville, the company disclosed in an official WARN notice it sent to the state Employment Development Department.
Part of Emeryville-based Pixar’s latest cutbacks, the layoffs are set to take place on multiple dates in the coming months, according to the WARN notice.

The majority of the layoffs, 104, are scheduled for Sept. 26. Additional positions will be cut on Nov. 6 and Dec. 6 of this year, and Jan. 2, 2027.
“After careful evaluation of many factors, Pixar has made the decision to permanently reduce the size of the workforce at Pixar’s facility located at 1200 Park Ave.,” Reema Batnagar, Pixar’s vice president of people, wrote in the July 21 WARN notice.
Software engineers, editors and technical directors were among the positions affected by the layoffs.
“Affected employees do not have bumping rights,” Pixar stated in the WARN letter. “None of them is represented by a union.”
Along with Pixar, Disney layoffs have affected ESPN, Disney Entertainment Television, and National Geographic television, Variety reported.
