According to the BBC, it was believed to be the first visit to the reef by a member of the royal family. It also happened to take place during a record-breaking heat wave across Europe, so Sophie dressed comfortably for the weather in a white and pink floral sundress by Lexy London, paired with gold Jimmy Choo wedge sandals she had worn the day before.

    Summer fashion typically means bright colors, and Sophie is known for wearing light hues or even jewel tones to formal events. So it was a surprise when the Duchess arrived at Royal Ascot in 2026 two days in a row in dark dresses, both by Suzannah London. Sophie paired this navy midi dress, covered in bows, with a special piece of jewelry from her collection: a necklace of alternating white and black pearls, interspersed with white gold rondels and a matching cross pendant, which was part of a suite that she wore on her wedding day to Prince Edward in 1999.
