Kerry Washington is getting major love from her Hollywood circle during her Off-Broadway run in The Whoopi Monologues at Lincoln Center Theater. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Kerry shared a series of backstage photos with supporters, thanking fans and loved ones for showing up during her time in the reimagined Whoopi Goldberg production.
The first photo featured a beaming Kerry alongside her former “Scandal” co-star Tony Goldwyn, who played President Fitzgerald Grant opposite her Olivia Pope for seven seasons.
Kerry stars alongside Dominique Fishback, Kecia Lewis, Danielle Pinnock and Kara Young in the five-woman ensemble reimagining of Whoopi Goldberg’s groundbreaking 1984 solo show, running through August 2 before Jurnee Smollett joins the cast. The visit is just the latest reminder of the deep bond Kerry and Tony have maintained since Scandal ended, one that’s continued to show up at award shows, political events and now, backstage at the theater.
