The problem with Charlie Hunnam playing these vile characters in Ryan Murphy productions is that goddamn he’s fine. He’s an artist, I get it, but would it kill him to do a rom-com just once. An entertainment tax, if you will.
Tracee Ellis Ross has a solo travel show in its second season and I haven’t watched it yet (I don’t even know if I have Roku) but I did want to talk about her hair care line, Pattern. It is thriving and established in a very competitive market, with retail space at Sephora and Ulta. I could see this being the next big acquisition, like how Jennifer Aniston sold Living Proof to Unilever. Also, if you love Tracee’s taste (who doesn’t), she shared her favourite things with The Strategist, including a t-shirt line she’s been wearing since Girlfriends. I want one, but the sizes are limited right now.
Emma Roberts got married in a custom Monique Lhuillier. There’s a lot happening with the layered skirt to the corset, the draping and the lace. Plus the shawl and veil. It’s a lot but it’s very considered.
Coincidentally, Emma’s ex Garrett Hedlund was hanging out with Tim McGraw and it came up in my feed. They go back to Country Strong. Garrett’s career was super hot for a minute, it seemed like he was on a movie star trajectory but it never quite took hold the way it did for actors like Miles Teller or Glen Powell. He just didn’t have that big hit that pushed him to the next level, but he does work (he currently stars in Tulsa King).
Cristiano Ronaldo is producing a show about a London-based sports agent, with Damian Lewis attached. Is this Ronaldo’s version of Entourage? There has been a sports Entourage set in the world of football, it was called Ballers and starred The Rock, Rob Gordrry and John David Washington. I don’t think it ever really found a strong fanbase like other HBO shows.
I was away for a few days and have no idea how Justin Bieber became “the Bigfoot of Bridgehampton,” but now I’m interested in learning more from Town & Country.
