In the years since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle moved to Los Angeles, the couple has reportedly struggled to secure major Hollywood partnerships. And according to several sources, Meghan blames some of these challenges to her husband.
A source recently told Star that the former Suits actress believes Harry’s “biases” are preventing him from securing massive paychecks. “What she wants is for him to stop acting like he’s above the whole Hollywood thing and start getting paid,” the source said. “There are plenty of opportunities up for grabs if he would just stop being so snobbish about it all.”
Earlier in May 2026, the outlet reported that Harry wants no part of the Hollywood lifestyle or spending time with Meghan’s close friend, Kris Jenner. At the time, an insider claimed that he never once imagined “getting pressured to cozy up to the Kardashians,” adding, “It’s all pretty surreal and, honestly, a little embarrassing for Harry. … The truth is, Harry would much rather stay home and read a book than spend the night making small talk with a bunch of social climbers posing for photos.”

Although Harry stepped down as a senior working royal in 2020, Meghan’s allegedly convinced that he’s “still so attached” to his royal status. While she supports him being “proud of his titles,” she “wants him to find a way to monetize it, whether that means doing cameos in movies or TV shows or starting a podcast. She really doesn’t care.”
“Meghan isn’t trying to deny Harry the opportunity to raise money for his charities. He’s passionate about it and she’s very proud of what he’s accomplished,” the source explained. “But as far as she’s concerned, that doesn’t mean he shouldn’t also be finding ways to make money for their family. It can’t be all on her to support them.”
Meghan’s demands come shortly after she, Harry, and their two children—Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet—met with King Charles and Queen Camilla during their UK visit in July 2026. Royal insiders told RadarOnline that the meeting may have been motivated less by a desire to bury the hatchet and more by mounting financial pressures.
Sources claimed that Harry and Meghan are beginning to realize their royal status is their “biggest asset,” and that mending ties with the royal family could help restore “the value of their personal brand after a difficult few years commercially.”
“There is no escaping the financial reality of the situation. The entertainment industry is incredibly competitive, and some of the opportunities that once came so easily are no longer there,” an insider continued. “Many believe the Sussexes understand that maintaining a civil relationship with the monarchy is increasingly important if they want to strengthen their long-term prospects. Whether that motivation is personal, commercial, or a combination of both is what people inside the Palace continue to debate.”
Another source added, “Basically, the Sussexes want back in the royal family as they fear their lifestyle may go bankrupt.”
