One of the crossovers that hasn’t materialized yet in the Spiderverse is Tom Holland‘s Spider-Man and Tom Hardy‘s Venom, but Amy Pascal still has hope.
While promoting Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Amy Pascal and Marvel’s Kevin Feige were asked how close they were to making the crossover happen.
“It would be great, let’s put it that way,” Pascal said on the Happy Sad Confused podcast.
When Josh Horowitz asked the producer whether there was still hope for the two characters and their actors to share the screen, Feige intervened and added, “Always have hope.”
Pascal then added, “I have hope. We have hope.”
Although a future on-screen meetup between Hardy and Holland is not confirmed, Pascal did confirm that an animated Venom movie is still in the works. Earlier this year, Deadline reported Final Destination Bloodlines duo Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein were set to direct the animated movie for Sony.
In 2025, Hardy revealed that a crossover with Holland’s Spider-Man was close to happening, with the actor saying on The Discourse Podcast, “We got as close as I could possibly imagine getting, apart from doing a film together, which I would have loved to have done because that just means so much fun.”
Hardy noted that he was interested in working out the crossover as it was “fundamentally it would be for the kids,” adding, “Because, you know, as much as adults love superhero films, as you can tell by the box office when they’re successful, I think I’m constantly reminded by children how important these characters are. And they don’t know why their favorite characters aren’t in films together.”
