Disney has announced that Dreamfinder will return as part of a reimagining of Journey Into Imagination with Figment at EPCOT.

“We are taking a new journey into imagination at EPCOT with Dreamfinder and Figment!” Disney Experiences Chairman Thomas Mazloum told the cheering crowd. “I’m so happy to share this news tonight. We know how important this is to you. We’ve heard you, and this is one more way we’re putting you in the center of everything we do.”
Neil Patrick Harris appeared dressed as Dreamfinder and holding a Figment plush for the announcement.
For years, fans have demanded an overhaul of the Journey Into Imagination attraction and to bring back Dreamfinder. The character was part of the original version of the attraction. He used his Dream Mobile to create Figment and the pair led guests through scenes representing Art, Literature, Performing Arts, and Science.
The Imagination Pavilion has suffered since the removal of the original Journey Into Imagination attraction in 1998. It was replaced by Journey into Your Imagination, which was largely regarded as a complete disaster. That version only lasted from 1999 to 2001 before being replaced by the also heavily criticized Journey into Imagination with Figment.
Over the years, there have been long-standing rumors about different Disney IPs replacing or joining Figment, including Phineas and Ferb and Inside Out. Thankfully, those rumors have subsided, and it seems like The Walt Disney Company finally understands the importance of Figment to EPCOT and Walt Disney World.
Disney did not share a timeline for the change or a closure date for the current attraction.
