A reliable insider claims we could see the sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Survivor before The Game Awards, ahead of its launch next year.
While the Star Wars franchise is at a low ebb across film and TV, it’s arguably never been better when it comes to quality video games.
We’ve already had the likes of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and Star Wars Outlaws in recent years, and Star Wars Zero Company went above and beyond expectations this year. If the promising Star Wars: Galactic Racer sticks the landing next month, video games might be the healthiest arm of the franchise right now.
According to one insider, 2026 will only get better for fans of Star Wars video games, as a reveal for the sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Survivor could be around the corner.
This comes from Star Wars insider FivesWalker, who has been accurate in the past when it comes to film and TV projects. In a post on X, they claim the follow-up to Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will launch next year, with marketing set to start ‘sooner than you think’.
‘I would bet even before [The Game Awards],’ they wrote. ‘Very exciting time for [Star Wars] games.’

The Game Awards takes place on December 10, 2026, and it’s unclear where it could be shown before then. However, sometimes games are announced on social media before a trailer is shown at the event (like Tomb Raider), so that could be the case here, if true.
A 2027 launch certainly sounds right for the sequel. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor launched in 2023, four years after the original, so next year makes sense in theory.
The third game is set to conclude the Jedi trilogy, which started with 2019’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, but apart from that we know nothing about it. Although we do know Stig Asmussen, who directed the sequel, will not helm the third entry, as he left developer Respawn in 2023.
There are several other Star Wars games currently in development, including the Knights Of The Old Republic remake, Star Wars Eclipse, and Star Wars: Fate Of The Old Republic.
The latter is particularly interesting because it’s by a new studio led by Casey Hudson, who was the director on the original Knights Of The Old Republic and Mass Effect. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have any release date yet and is very unlikely to be out in 2027.
