BBC One’s The Celebrity Traitors has only been back on screens for a week and it has already generated an incredible amount of buzz. Are we surprised? Absolutely not, but the UK’s version of the global phenomenon has once again proven why it might just be the best of them all. Claudia Winkleman is, of course, a large part of that, while the Richard E. Grant Traitor admission very quickly took the internet by storm.

That ultimately led to Richard’s banishment, making Traitors history as it was the first time that a Traitor had ever been banished this early in the competition. And with the new generation of Traitors – James Acaster and Hannah Fry – joining OG Maya Jama in plotting the next murder, three Faithfuls are now in danger: Sebastian “Bash” Croft, Bella Ramsey, and James Blunt.

Furthermore, who will face the next banishment now that Richard and Myha’la – the two big targets – are off the board? Join us as we recap The Celebrity Traitors season 2 episode 4 LIVE and find out.

Who leaves The Celebrity Traitors series 2 episode 4?

As usual, The Celebrity Traitors’ newest episode opens with breakfast as the Fathful gather together to find out who was murdered overnight. As the gang sits down at the table, James Blunt and Sebastian “Bash” Croft enter, meaning that Bella Ramsey has indeed been taken off the board. Everyone is shocked by it, but more confused than anything else – chaos that Maya welcomes.

The Faithful begin to deliberate about who the Traitors could be. Miranda is beginning to convince everyone that Hannah could be a Traitor – convinced that Myha’la was trying to give them a clue when she was banished. Julie thinks it might be Joe Lycett, and James is convinced it could be Julie. Ironically, Gerry Hall correctly thinks it might be James Acaster but Miranda actually thinks he might be a Faithflul.

With that, they head out to the haunted cabin for today’s mission: Split into two groups – one who visit the cabin and the other making contact with the spirits. This will lead to treaure, £6000, and even shields after they make contact. One elected player will be meeting the Spirit to hand over the treasure, but if they get it wrong, the Spirit takes them out of the game and they will no longer be eligible for the Shields.

The first mission was a success, as the team found a picture of the Spirit’s lost love Geoffrey, with Miranda delivering the picture, earnign them £1500. They then had to find a necklace from a nearby toilet, with Bash successfully pulling it out. Julie delivered the necklace to the Spirit, earning another £1500. After that, the third message brought them to a toy box, in which Bash successfully got a shield.

The teams swapped tasks for the next round, with the next spirit looking for a wedding dress. They ultimately chose the wrong one and Romesh was taken from the game. Then, onto the fourth task, and Kenny successfully pulled it off, earning himself a Shield. Hannah was a little nervous as she hesitated to take the Shield and Kenny noticed.

The Roundtable produces another shock result

At the Roundtable, Hannah takes a lot of heat at the beginning. Kenny points out the Shield issue, and Bash manages to question her into a potential trap. However, Kenny, Maya, and James Blunt manage to turn the conversation around onto Julie. And, with that, it’s clearly going to be Julie or Hannah that are banished.

Ultimately, it was Julie who was banished. The reveal shocks everyone, which rocks everyone to their core because they just banished the lovely, lovely Julie. And as a result of that, there is sadness and shock throughout the castle. Miranda and Sharon are rather annoyed about James Blunt convincing them about Julie.

The Traitors are given a new task of playing a game of hide and seek – or, well, rather picking the Fathfuls that they want to play the game for them. Four players are chosen to take part in the game, where they must go into the woods and into a crypt to await their fate. There, the Traitors will pick who they want to murder. Romesh, Ross, Rob, and Leigh-Anne are the chosen four.

When those four meet Claudia outside of the castle, they are told that the Traitors won’t be able to murder the one with the key. The four deliberate and it’s Leigh-Anne that they choose to give the key to, meaning that if the Traitors come to her crypt, they won’t be able to get in – therefore, no murder will take place. And, with that, Claudia tells them all to run into the woods.

    Let the games begin!
