After Milly Alcock deleted Supergirl from her Instagram, we reached out to our insiders. We’re told Alcock’s role as Supergirl in Man of Tomorrow has been reduced.
“Haven’t heard too much except they’ve reduced her role, and Gunn is just kitchen sinking cameos and fan service, a lot of which may not even make it to the screen,” our insider tells us.
The word comes two days after James Gunn said the Milly Alcock fired rumor “couldn’t be more false.”
Both can be true. Alcock is not fired, and she is in the movie. The part is just smaller.

First The Marketing, Now The Movie
Back on September 12, scooper ThwipT posted that Supergirl “purposely won’t be shown a lot” in the Man of Tomorrow marketing.
CBN insiders said at the time that inside the studio, the Supergirl messaging was viewed as botched.
Last week, Alcock deleted her Supergirl posts from Instagram, right as Clayface premiered, and rumors flew that she had been fired.
Now comes word that the role itself is cut down, which comes right after Gunn recently stated he has a finished cut and he’s showing it to Peter Safran.

‘Win Back The Core Male Audience Of DC’
The same insider laid out what Skydance is chasing.
“It’s still chaos in the studio because Skydance has to make audience friendly films, but executives are being let go left and right but it’s tough finding replacements,” says our insider.
“They especially have to win back the core male audience of DC,” the insider continued.
That is the mandate behind the cut.

Milly Alcock Says Supergirl Tells Young Girls It’s OK To Be ‘Bad’ And ‘Messy’
Milly Alcock is teasing the kind of message audiences can expect from Supergirl, and it sounds like this version of Kara Zor-El…
Warner Bros. staffers already said it from inside the studio, with Deadline reporting DC “chose the wrong comic book character.” And Ellison’s team has the audience data, as CBN reported.
Our Paramount source also tells us that with James Gunn and Peter Safran now answering to David Ellison and Ynon Kreiz, Ellison may be taking matters into his own hands with Man of Tomorrow, potentially stepping in to tone down the goofy humor.
Skydance just took a hit with Street Fighter, which leaned heavily into the same tired Guardians formula Hollywood has beaten to death.
The message from fans has been loud and clear: They’re tired of seeing their favorite characters turned into jokes, with forced comedy, ridiculous humor, and eye-rolling needle drops taking the place of good storytelling. Not to mention with agenda-filled messaging.

‘Kitchen Sinking Cameos And Fan Service’
The second half of the insider’s line fits everything reported about the movie.
Man of Tomorrow keeps adding cameos, and a reported script leak described an event movie stuffed with characters.
Gunn himself set expectations back in September: “It’s movie about Lex and Clark. People shouldn’t expect substantial amounts of other characters.”
A movie packed with cameos and fan service, where nobody outside Superman and Lex gets substantial time, is a movie where parts shrink in the edit.
And per our insider, some of that footage never makes the screen at all.
The editing is happening right now. Gunn showed the first Director’s Cut to Peter Safran on Friday.
The same insiders also ran the numbers on where the DCU stands: the SnyderVerse topped $3 billion by its third movie. Clayface, Gunn’s third, opens Thursday.
Man of Tomorrow opens July 9, 2027. What is left of Kara is being decided in that edit.
