Lindsey Burrow has revealed she is not yet ready to date again following the death of her rugby legend husband, Rob. The ex-England star gave his blessing before his passing from motor neurone disease (MND), encouraging her to find joy in romance. But the widow acknowledged she is not prepared to contemplate a future with another partner just yet. Rob, who passed away aged 41 in 2024, left loving messages for Lindsey and the three children they shared. He utilised specialist voice technology to make these after losing the ability to speak due to his MND. Initially, Lindsey was apprehensive about listening to the voice of her late husband, believing it would be too upsetting.
However, when she eventually plucked up the courage to tune in, she was greeted with words of encouragement that urged her to find happiness once more.
Speaking to the Telegraph in an interview earlier this year, Lindsey confirmed that pursuing romance was not on her mind.
“I don’t think about that,” she explained. “People do say to me, ‘I hope you move on,’ but it’s not about that. My priority is the children, first and foremost. I don’t know what the future holds but [finding love again] is not on my agenda.”
Lindsey, who shares children Macy, 14, Maya, 10, and Jackson, seven, with Rob, stated that her attention remains on her family as they adjust to life without their anchor. She continued: “Not a day goes by when I don’t think about him and talk about him.
“Rob was so positive in his lifetime. He wanted us to be happy. He showed us how to live life in the moment – and now I cope by not thinking about the future.”

She also spoke about the prospect of finding love again in an interview with the Mirror, emphasising the position Rob would always occupy in her life.
“As long as the children are happy, I’m happy,” she said. “Rob was the love of my life. No one will ever take his place.
“It’s heartbreaking that he isn’t here, but I’m so grateful to have had him as a husband and father. He taught us that in the darkest of times, there’s a strength within us that we don’t realise we have.”
