Wow. The penultimate episode of The Celebrity Traitors just brought us the biggest bombshell moment yet (yes, it tops the Richard E. Grant saga) and now, the most important episode of all is just 24 hours away. But who’s still in the game? How does the final work? And why is everyone calling it a “game-breaking” finale? We’ve sorted fact from fiction to bring you the answers.
But first, a quick recap. The penultimate episode was shocking, to say the least. Joanne McNally was banished, James Acaster outed himself as a Traitor after deciding he’d been caught and, just like that, we had our Celebrity Traitors series 2 finalists. But if you thought the drama had peaked, think again as episode 10 promises to deliver the most nail-biting scenes yet. Read on for your Celebrity Traitors final FAQ…
What time is The Celebrity Traitors final on?
BBC
We’ve got 24 hours to go. The Celebrity Traitors series 2 final will air on Friday 30th October at 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
How long will The Celebrity Traitors final be?
BBC
The final episode of The Celebrity Traitors series 2 final will be a long one – an 80-minute long one, to be precise. It’s the longest episode in Traitors history, which means we’re in for plenty more drama!
How does The Celebrity Traitors final work?
The Celebrity Traitors final will consist of four key elements:
A murder
BBC
In the final scenes of episode 9, Claudia Winkleman let the players know that there will be one more opportunity to murder. Sadly, we didn’t get to see who the remaining Traitors King Kenny and Maya Jama chose, but all will be revealed in the final.
A final mission
BBC
Our Celebrity Traitors will take part in one final mission in a bid to add some extra cash to the prize pot. Last year, we saw the finalist – Alan Carr, Cat Burns, Joe Marler, David Olusoga and Nick Mohammed – board a steam train called the Traitors Express, on which they completed various tasks before it exploding. So if that’s anything to go by, we’re expecting it to be an extra special one.
A Round Table banishment
BBC
The Round Tables aren’t over just yet. The players will have one final opportunity to banish a Traitor, but this time, there’s a difference. When the player is banished, they won’t reveal if they’re a Traitor or a Faithful. Rewind to 2025’s finale and Cat was the player (see also: Traitor) to be banished in a winning move for the Faithful – though sadly, it all fell apart shortly afterwards.
The Fire Pit ceremony
BBC
Now, for the most exciting bit of The Celebrity Traitors – the Fire Pit ceremony. All remaining players gather round the fire pit with two ceremonial pouches to cast their vote – the green flame pouch is a vote to stop the game and the red flame pouch is a vote to continue the game and get rid of another player. To put an end to the game, all players must agree and the voting will continue until they reach that point.
The result

If you’re a Faithful, the aim of the game is to have only Faithfuls left at the fire pit, in which case you split the prize pot between you. If you’re a Traitor, however, you simply want to be the surviving Traitor, which would result in taking the entire prize pot home. And as for the big reveal? Once the final decision is locked in, everyone’s true identities are revealed.

BBC
Ever since The Celebrity Traitors series 2 started, rumours have been rife about various events that are set to take place – from breakdowns to surprise twists. Quite honestly, we haven’t seen any of them (ok, maybe a hint in that episode 9 momenet), but according to various sources, the best bits are being saved for the final episode. Given the drama of series 9, it would hardly surprise us.
Will there be a third series of The Celebrity Traitors?
Yes – excitingly, there are plans for a third series and rumour has it the BBC is already eyeing up its stars. While it’s likely to be some time before it arrives on our screens (probably this time next year), the civilian version of the show is expected to return in January 2027. Until then…
