since this is Andrew’s first time here we are taking a second to get more acquainted with the clubhouse quickie is there an artist or performer that made you want to get into the business yes there’s two of them Billy Holiday was actually one of them so that’s kind of like where the end of my name comes from day um and then also Lauren Hill that was a huge huge Lauren Hill that album helped me become a woman overused Emoji oh the prayer hands like super stereotype yeah for sure what’s your most overused Emoji um I I think I use like the eye I love the melting head like sing a lot uh what was your first ever job oh my God my f my first ever job you remember video stores I used to work at Hollywood Video it was like it was like the low rent Blockbuster you know like budget Blockbuster yeah I I worked there my first job there was one day cuz I went in and they tried to Haze me and they like messed up all of the movies and they were like you need to organize these in alphabetical order was where’s the B from at they like it’s back there and I just took the back door out I never came back who was your biggest celebrity crush when you were younger uh my biggest celebrity crush when I was younger ooh that’s a good question two there are two different worlds by the way okay uh it was um Tupac and JT wow Jonathan Jonathan Taylor Thomas combo honestly like actually right you know what makes me wish that they had collabed right right exactly you know what I mean what would that look like yeah I know thank you Andra [Music]
During “Clubhouse Quickie,” Oscar nominee Andra Day says Billie Holiday and Lauryn Hill made her want to get into the singing business. Andra also says the prayer hands are her most overused emoji while Cecily Strong says she’s always using the melting head emoji. Andra goes on to say that her first job was at a video store, but she quit after her co-workers tried to haze her, and reveals that her biggest celebrity crushes when she was younger were Tupac and Jonathan Taylor Thomas.
