Last year, Khloé Kardashian revealed that her mom, Kris Jenner, lied to her when she was just 14 in order to get her to drive her younger siblings to school without a license.

Calling her out directly, Khloé told Kris on their family’s Hulu show, “You lied to me and said that I had a government license. You’re the one that told me I was allowed to take the kids to school” — “the kids” being her youngest sisters, Kendall and Kylie Jenner. Kris simply laughed the whole thing off, stating in a confessional: “It was a little bit different back then. Don’t judge me until you’ve walked in my shoes!”

In fact, Kris has been super open about relying on then-teenage Khloé for help while she was raising Kendall and Kylie. In her 2011 memoir, Kris Jenner…And All Things Kardashian, the mom-of-six describes Khloé as her “built-in babysitter,” writing: “I would have had to give up so much if I had not had Khloé there to help. Without Khloé, I don’t know how I would have gone on with my life…Because of Khloé, I was able to attend business meetings, work out, get my hair cut, even have lunch with a friend.”

Fast forward to today, and Khloé has opened up about the lasting impact that caring for her siblings so young had on her. In the latest episode of The Kardashians, Khloé sits down for a candid conversation with her older sister Kourtney, during which she reveals that Kris is “not thrilled” about her being in therapy.

“Mom is not happy that I’m in therapy,” she says. Kourtney replies, “If only she would go,” to which Khloé says, “She won’t. But she’s not thrilled with me.”

Kourtney — who famously swears by therapy and has tried convincing Kris to try it multiple times — says in a confessional: “Maybe my mom saw the reaction that I had with her about therapy, and maybe she’s like, ‘Not the other two. Kourtney’s just coming around the corner, being nice to me again.’”

Khloé then says, “[My therapist] just thinks that I have complex PTSD. Like, how mom would leave me alone with the kids.”

Kourtney replies, “I saw somebody say that you were parentified. Like, made to be a parent when you’re not a parent.” Khloé says, “Yeah, that’s what she says. That’s why I always take care of people.”

Kourtney explains in a confessional: “Khloé’s always been a caretaker. I think with my little sisters, or even with me, sometimes — or all the time, pretty much — she treats me like I’m her little sister.”
Khloé then adds: “My therapist sorta told me that one of the reasons why I want to take care of other people so badly is ‘cause I got attention and recognition when I was doing adult-like things. Like, taking care of my sisters, dropping them off at school — literally, I take better care of other people than I do of me.”
