Prince William and Princess Kate are known for cherishing their privacy, particularly when it comes to family moments at Adelaide Cottage. The Wales family, including their children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—and the much-loved family cocker spaniel, Orla, live in this five-bedroom Windsor residence.

While not much is revealed about their private life, Prince William recently gave an insight into their household during a visit to Duchy College in Cornwall. As he chatted to Louise Harland and stroked her dog Jacks, she says that the prince told her that Orla often sleeps on the bed alongside the royal couple.

The encounter took place earlier this month, and Louise shared her experience with Hits Radio Cornwall, disclosing: “[William] said that his little dog sleeps on the bed with them at night, with him and Kate. [He was] absolutely in love with my little dog. He asked what breed he was and he’s never met one of those breeds, he’s a Cockerjack, so he’s a little bit of a unique combination.”

The Royal couple has had another dog before Orla, Lupo—a thoughtful wedding gift from Kate’s brother James—which sadly passed away in November 2020.

In 2022 she was captured in a gorgeous snapshot with Princess Charlotte, released to commemorate Charlotte’s seventh birthday in May. She then accompanied the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to a polo event in 2023, reports the Mirror.

Moreover, there’s evidence that the Wales clan enjoys the company of various animals. Earlier in the year, Prince William stopped by Woodgate Valley Urban Farm and encountered an array of creatures, including some endearing guinea pigs.

He had the chance to caress them and even brush one named Snowflake. During his visit, he shared with attendees, “These guys are pretty cool. We’ve got guinea pigs at home and they are not like this.”

He added with a note of domestic experience, “I have to spend my life cleaning out the guinea pig cage because the children forget to do it. And then they run off because you have to handle them all the time, that’s why these ones are so calm. The ones we’ve got at home, they’re off. You have to keep them constantly stroked and looked after.”
