Princess Kate is often spotted in high street clothing and Ghost is a brand she’s been pictured wearing over the years. She’s chosen the British label’s elegant dresses for special events, and would no doubt approve of its new collection.

Ghost, known for its luxurious but affordable occasionwear, has released its latest bridal range, which includes lots of dresses that will work for any special occasion you might be attending this year – whether that’s a wedding, the races, a big birthday or another celebration.

The collection features plenty of Ghost’s signature, well-tailored dresses in colours running from pretty pastels to rich jewel tones. There are cuts to suit all preferences, including numerous swishy v-neck button-down frocks in midi and maxi lengths, with various sleeve styles.

The Princess of Wales wore a blue long-sleeved button-down dress from the brand for a surprise appearance on BBC One’s special, The Big Night In, during the pandemic. Then in her 10th wedding anniversary photos, she opted for the Avery design; a floaty v-neck floral-patterned dress in shades of light blue.

Below, we’ve selected our favourite dresses from the new collection, including some inspired by Princess Kate’s looks. Prices run from £99-£195 and styles are available in sizes 8-20.

A slinkier take on a classic tea dress, this v-neck midi with flowy short sleeves is dressy without being too revealing. Choose from five colours, including a pale blue.

We love the simplicity of this scoop-neck dress, with a fuller, flared skirt than some in the collection. It comes in four colours.

If you prefer a sleeveless frock, this bias-cut maxi with a flowing skirt is an elegant choice. We think it would look great with a pair of open-toe heels for a summer do.

While the majority of the dresses in the collection are without embellishments, the Lillie style has a pretty lace trim on the v-neckline and capped sleeves. This midi comes in pretty pastel shades, including an on-trend pale yellow buttermilk colour.

If you prefer some coverage on the arms, the Madison, with its three-quarter-length balloon sleeves, is ideal. The button-down style with a front slit is one of the most versatile in the range, and there are seven colours to choose from.
