Showcasing the strong ties that have always been a hallmark of their close knit family, James Middleton has recently remarked on the bond between himself and his sisters – comparing them to ‘mothering figures’ throughout his adolescence. ‘I jokingly say that I had three mothers growing up,’ he revealed. ‘I had my mother and my two sisters, who were mothering figures to me. I was very fortunate. We had a fantastic childhood, and they included me in everything they did, and still do. I’m now in my late 30s and we still have that friendship.’
James, who turns 38 this month, is so close with his family that he has even stayed in the same area where he grew up, setting up a home with his wife, Alizée and their 18-month-old son, Inigo. They live with their six dogs at a farmhouse in the Berkshire countryside, surrounded by 30 acres of rolling hills and woodland – and, if they ever tire of pastoral delights, ‘we’re lucky enough to have seven pubs within a mile radius,’ he joked to HELLO! magazine in a recent interview.
