Royal fans around the world will be sharing their fond memories today of Prince William and Princess Kate’s wedding 14 years ago. From the wedding dress, to the double balcony kiss, and the look of love between William and Kate, the wedding day in 2011 was something hard to forget.

While plenty of royal fans tuned in on TV to watch William, now 42, and Kate, now 43, exchange vows, many also made their way to the streets of London in the hopes of catching a real-life glimpse of the royal couple. After they exchanged vows, William and Kate travelled from Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace along a procession route, waving to royal fans lining the streets to see them.

Although some people decided to camp on the route to guarantee themselves a good spot, others set extremely early alarms to make sure they got there on time.

Although William and Kate were aware of the mass crowds gathered to see them, the princess still seems shocked at just how popular the event was.

This was shown when Kate spoke to a few royal fans during a walkabout when she was The Duchess of Cambridge.

As revealed by Harper’s Bazaar, then fans told Kate they woke up at 4.30 in the morning of William and Kate’s wedding day “to see” the event.

Kate seemed taken back by this as she replied to the fans: “I’m so sorry”, with an amused but slightly embarrassed look on her face.

While the couple’s wedding was now 14 years ago, William and Kate seem as loved up as ever.

Since their big day, the future King and Queen have had their three children Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, seven, and have moved from London to Windsor.

Having initially called Kensington Palace home, the couple traded in Palace walls for a humble cottage on the Windsor Castle estate to give their children more privacy and outdoor space.

The couple have managed to juggle royal duties with being hands-on parents.
