Why Austin Nichols Cast Reggie Bush In The Salamander King
I do want to ask you both obviously with the talk of like One Tree Hill and Friday Night Light reboots, how would you guys compare revisiting Passels to new projects like this one? Um, we’re in a world of reboots right now, aren’t we? I know we’re in a world of reboot. We definitely are. You know, I think we might have I don’t know. I’ll I’ll start. But like it it’s a weird time in the business. You know, there’s been this obsession with IP, existing IP, and they, you know, we want to built an audience, and that’s all we we all understand that it’s a business. At the same time, I think as artists, we yearn for something new and fresh and but you kind of got to walk the balance. It’s the nature of what’s going on now and today. And, you know, we got to just do what we got to do and and go with it. But at the same time, you’re also like, why ruin a good thing, you know. Yep. Cuz I don’t know if anything could ever be live up to the originals. It’s like it’s it’s hard to do. It’s hard to do with a new cast. It’s hard to do with a new creative team. And you’re like, just let it be. Let it be perfect. Yeah. Let’s make original content. Yeah. Yeah. That’s definitely the tricky part, right? And then I would I wanted to ask you guys too, how does that support for past projects feel? And you know, how does that feel for you guys? you know, given that it’s been a few years. Wait, what was the question? What was the question? How does the support for past projects feel too? Oh. Oh, it feels great. I mean, great. People are still finding Friday Night Lights for the first time because it is like I mean that that will live on forever. It could be yesterday. It doesn’t feel like it’s dated and everybody can resonate with that show. So, it is interesting when I have people come up to me like, “Oh my god, I just started watching Friday nights.” I’m like, “I’m so jealous. I wish I could go back and watch it for the first time. and and the streamers have allowed that to happen in a new way, which is cool because a whole new generation can find a show that, you know, in the past with reruns, that wasn’t really feasible because you you’d catch an episode whenever and now they can see the whole thing from beginning to end all a cart. So, that’s really cool. And it’s also great to just hear that you did something that’s people still care about. Yeah. It’s still resonating with humans. Yeah. It’s great.
