Mathew Knowles Makes Rare Comment About Ex Tina Knowles | E! News

Matthew Nolles is giving a special shout out to his ex-wife. The retired music executive takes to Instagram May 1st to celebrate Tina Nolles’s latest career achievement, posting a pic of the 71-year-old holding her new memoir, Matriarch, which she released last month, writing, “Tina, congratulations on your New York Times number one bestseller, Matriarch.” Matthew’s sweet show of support for his ex comes just a week after Tina, who shares daughters Beyonce and Solange knows with the businessman, reflected on their over 30-year long marriage, explaining on the April 24th episode of Sirius XM’s Gail King in the House podcast. And when you look back over your your life and your marriage with Matthew, you said, “Listen, we had some difficult times, but it seems that you both have figured out a way to navigate what had been very painful for you.” Yes. Absolutely. Because that was a long time ago. And uh you know what I’ve said over and over is that yes, I had some really tumultuous, terrible times with Matthew, but I never questioned whether he loved me or my kids. The former couple tied the knot in January 1980. Tina then filed for divorce in 2009, but dropped the petition a year later, reconciling with Matthew for a short period before filing once again in August 2011 after he fathered a child with another woman. The two then finalized their divorce in November that same year. However, Tina says all of those issues are in the past, going on to reveal where she and Matthew stand today. And we are on good terms because we got these, you know, we did a good job. We did some really good stuff, too. [Music]
