Netflix has denied sending a legal warning to a chef who criticised Meghan Markle’s cookery show on the streaming platform after he claimed they ‘came after’ him
Meghan was slammed over her Netflix cookery show
Netflix has denied sending a legal warning to a chef who criticised Meghan Markle’s cookery show.
The series – titled With Love, Meghan – follows the Duchess of Sussex in her day to day life as she cooks and hosts for family and friends. The show has been widely panned by critics with chef Jameson Stocks, 41, who once cooked for King Charles slamming it as “terrible” and “hard to watch.”
Stocks claimed in the past that he turned down an offer to take part in the show, and on Friday he made allegations that his negative comments about Meghan had led to him being issued a warning from Netflix. But the streaming service has denied the claims via a spokesperson.
They told The Independent: “No legal letter was sent to Jameson Stocks from Netflix.” Stocks meanwhile told MailOnline: “I got a lawyer’s letter from Netflix after I spoke out against her, warning me. I proper p***ed them off. Netflix did not like it and came after me.”

He then again slammed Meghan questioning why she is being paid to host a cookery-themed show. He said: “How can she get all this money from Netflix? I don’t think she can cook and I don’t think she should be teaching people to cook either.”
Meghan has had an array of guests join her on the series including The Office actor Mindy Kaling, her Suits co-star Abigail Spencer, and celebrity chefs Alice Waters and Roy Choi. Stocks first slammed Meghan’s show when speaking to GB News prior to its release back in March.
At the time he said: “I felt that even if she produced a really great programme, which I was quite sceptical of anyway, that I might get a little slammed for it, for being a part of it.
“I didn’t like the idea of me showing her how to do something, and then it kind of being forced and fake. I just felt if she’s going to do something herself, she should do it herself.”

He then gave his damning verdict that Meghan should stick to what she knows in being an actress. He added: “I think she should just go back to acting. She’s quite a good actress in real life, or obviously on screen. I think people should just stick to what they do best.”
Stocks was discovered by iconic chef Marco Pierre White after running away from home when he he was just 15-years-old. Brad Pitt is now set to produce a movie about him telling his life story.
With Love, Meghan forms part of the infamous $100m deal The Duchess and Duke of Sussex made with Netflix back in 2020. A second season of the show is now slated to air in 2026.
The show joins other projects from the pair with Netflix including their six-part docuseries Harry & Meghan and the documentary Polo.
