Netflix has denied claims they issued a celebrity chef a legal warning after he slammed Meghan Markle’s lifestyle show.

The Duchess of Sussex released With Love, Meghan last month and the show received mixed reviews. While fans raved about the program and rushed to try all of Meghan’s tips and recipes, critics branded it “pointless” and out of touch.

One person who voiced his disappointment with the series was Jameson Stocks, a celebrity chef who has previously worked for King Charles. Jameson fumed, “I felt that even if she produced a really great program, which I was quite skeptical of anyway, that I might get a little slammed for it, for being a part of it.”

He continued, “I didn’t like the idea of me showing her how to do something, and then it kind of being forced and fake. I just felt if she’s going to do something herself, she should do it herself.”

During an appearance on GB News, the chef also urged Markle to return to acting instead, stating, “I think she should just go back to acting. She’s quite a good actress in real life, or obviously on screen. I think people should just stick to what they do best.”

Jameson further fumed to The Daily Mail, “I got a lawyer’s letter from Netflix after I spoke out against her, warning me. I proper p—– them off. Netflix did not like it and came after me.”

He also questioned why Netflix paid Meghan for the lifestyle show as he said, “I don’t think she can cook and I don’t think she should be teaching people to cook either.”

However, Netflix has now issued a response to Jameson’s claims, denying they sent him the letter. “No legal letter was sent to Jameson Stocks from Netflix,” a spokesperson told The Independent.

With Love, Meghan featured a number of celebrity guests including Mindy Kaling and Meghan’s Suits co-star Abigail Spencer. Prince Harry even made an appearance in one episode, as well as celebrity chefs Alice Waters and Roy Choi.

A second season of the show is expected to be released later this fall. Sharing the exciting news on Instagram, Meghan said, “If you’re loving Season 1, just wait until you see the fun we cooked up on Season 2! Thanks for joining the party, and an endless thanks to the amazing team and crew who helped bring it all to life! @netflix.”
