Kanye West, Kid Cuddy, Michael B. Jordan. These names and other celebrities came up at day one of Diddy’s sex trafficking trial in Manhattan. Those names were on a list of possible people who whose names might come up at some point during what’s expected to be a an action-packed two-month trial. At the beginning of a trial like this, the jurors are given a chance to say uh if they have any sort of association or any sort of uh feeling about any of those people that would make them an impartial person or would make it so they couldn’t judge fairly uh the case. The lengthy jury selection process has begun. Uh it started with a panel of 50 jurors this morning. did. He also got his first look at uh some possible jurors that may decide his fate. And he was able to trade out his jail outfit of a tan, drab clothing for his own clothes. Uh he picked a dark blue sweater over a crisp white button-down. His his hair though has been uh increasingly getting more gray uh in the seven months that he’s been locked up cuz hair dye is not allowed at the Brooklyn jail where he’s staying. Uh, as a reminder, Diddy is charged with very serious stuff, including coercing women into uh what he called freakoffs. Uh, prosecutors have called them days long coerced sexual performances. His ex Cassie Ventur is expected to testify. But look, we’re just at day one of what’s expected to be a long 10w weekl long possibly trial uh that could decide whether a man who was on top of the world just a couple of years ago will spend the rest of his life in prison.

During the first day of jury selection Monday in the Manhattan federal sex-crimes case against Combs, 55, a group of potential panelists was read a long list of bold-faced names that might be mentioned, including the controversial rapper West — who goes by “Ye” — and the two famous actors.
