Prince Harry has been compared to his father-in-law Thomas Markle.
Prince Harry’s BBC interview is the latest bombshell to rock the Royal Family
On GB News today, hosts Ellie Costello and Stephen Dixon discussed news headlines with Charlotte Griffiths when chat turned to Prince Harry’s surprise television interview with the BBC last week.
During the interview, the Duke of Sussex admitted that he could not speak to his father after their relationship deteriorated due to a series of disagreements after Harry and Meghan stepped back from their royal duties. The couple decided to relocate to the US in 2020, and leave behind their royal responsibilities.
Mail on Sunday editor Charlotte suggested that Prince Harry may end up in a situation similar to that of his father-in-law, Thomas Markle, who was estranged from Meghan Markle before their wedding in 2018, writes The Express.
Charlotte said: “The Royal Family think. Prince Harry is delusional if he thinks that getting in touch with his father is possible by speaking on a BBC interview. He’s lost the plot, I’m afraid.”
Stephen added: “Someone asked how the king could talk to him, not knowing what would appear in the next interview, documentary, or book. “
Charlotte continued: “It is tragic, though, because one thing I am getting from him is an absolute sense of desperation. He clearly just can not get hold of his father. But I agree with his father, who is very wise. He can’t engage with his own son.

“They have got to find a way to communicate because this will keep happening. I can imagine Prince Harry doing an interview every few months if it means getting hold of his father. The irony is, remember, Meghan’s father, Thomas Markle, couldn’t get hold of Meghan; he began doing interviews every six months, and now I see history repeating itself.”
Harry said during the interview with the BBC it would be “impossible” to bring his family to the UK after losing a legal battle over his personal security.
He also said during the interview that he would “love” to reconcile with his family despite King Charles’s refusal to speak to him “because of the security stuff”.
After the ruling, Buckingham Palace said put out a statement which read: “All of these issues have been examined repeatedly and meticulously by the courts, with the same conclusion reached on each occasion.”
After Friday’s court ruling, Prince Harry said: “I can’t see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the UK at this point. There have been so many disagreements between myself and some of my family.
“I would love reconciliation with my family. There’s no point continuing to fight any more, life is precious,” added the Duke of Sussex.
