Amid all the pomp and circumstance of VE Day celebrations, it was Prince Louis who stole the show as he joined his siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. The seven-year-old royal, who has become a firm favourite among royal watchers for his cheeky displays during national engagements, drew delight once more as he spent the day teasing his brother, charming his father, Prince William, and wowing crowds on the Buckingham Palace balcony with his mother, the Princess of Wales.

The Firm’s day commenced with a military parade outside Buckingham Palace. Prince Louis, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte put on a regal display on the front row of the viewing platform, sitting alongside their grandfather, King Charles, who saluted the armed forces as they walked by. Louis was clearly taking in the parade, at what was his first major marking of VE Day with his family, and at one point ensured that his father was dressed suitably smart for occasion, dusting the shoulder of the Prince of Wales’ military uniform clean before tugging on his gold-braided aiguillette.
