Prince William “regrets” not cutting Meghan Markle and Prince Harry off from the royal family when they quit five years ago, according to a source.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex may have left the royal family, but that hasn’t stopped them from spilling shocking secrets from behind palace walls.
Tensions have risen between the Sussexes and the royals after the couple spoke out in their Netflix docuseries and Harry attacked his family in his memoir, Spare. Now, a source has suggested the Prince Of Wales is done with the drama.
“William has lost all his patience when it comes to Harry and Meghan. He refuses to get into a public back and forth with his brother about any of this,” the source claimed.
They also suggested William feels as though the drama is “getting old at this point.”
Tensions between the Sussexes and the royals recently worsened when Meghan was spotted to have used her HRH title, something she agreed to stop when she left the royal family.
The source said, “The matter of their royal titles should have been properly addressed when they initially left. William would have cut Harry and Meghan off from the royal institution back then and he regrets that it didn’t happen.”
Both Meghan and Prince Harry relinquished their HRH (His/Her Royal Highness) titles when they stepped down from their roles as senior royals in March 2020.
However, during a recent podcast chat, an image was shown of a gift card from Meghan to a pal stating, “With the compliments of HRH The Duchess of Sussex”.
There was no formal documents written to restrict their usage, but Harry and Meghan had reached an understanding with the late monarch and senior officials that they would stop using the term “royal” after “Megxit.”
Sources close to Harry and Meghan told the Daily Mail that the photo shared by Jamie Kern Lima on her podcast may have been taken before the launch of As Ever, indicating that while the couple doesn’t publicly use their HRH titles, they continue to do so privately among friends and in personal letters.
