That’s one of those words that’s easier to read than say directorial. Is it directorial? Fudge. I think it’s directo fudge. I can’t say it. This is how Google pronounces it. Directorial. Directorial. Oh my god, I was so wrong. Directorial. Oh my god. Directorial. One more. Directorial. Directorial. Okay. Let’s try this again. The can the can film festival just kicked off in France and Scarlett Johansson is there with her directorial debut. The film is called Eleanor the Great. The movie stars June Squib. No clue who she is. Shu Shu F. I just Oh my god. Shitel A4. Shitel A4 and Jessica H. Oh my god. What is wrong with me today? I need more coffee. I started off strong. The movie is about a 94 yearear-old woman Squib who relocates from Florida to New York City to live with her daughter and grandson after experiencing a loss. And Scarlet says, “Premiering in can. I don’t know how I will be able to process the huggeeness of it. It makes me nervous, but I’m excited as well. I’m very proud of it and proud of all the work everybody did to make it. Well, if you’ve been following me and the it ends with us saga, you are not surprised to learn that one of the people responsible for making her directing debut is none other than Justin Baldoni. Justin Baldoni, who is suing her ex-husband and his wife. And now Scarlet has opened up for the first time about this. In a new interview with Vanity Fair, she says that Baldon and his production company were super supportive throughout the process. But yeah, such weird timing. And that’s all she said. But A, I love that Vanity Fair asked her about it. And B, I love that she responded. And if you were expecting some saltiness from ScarJoe, think again. Because as recently as 2023, she had just positive things to say about Ryan Reynolds. The Marvel alum was on Gwennneth Paltro’s podcast and Gwennneth asked Scarlet how many times she’d been married. She revealed three. And then almost instantly Chris Martin’s ex-wife remembered. Oh, that’s right. Because I forgot you were married to Ryan Reynolds. Goals, said Gwennneth. Paulro added, “We love a good Ryan Reynolds in our house.” And then Scarlet said, “He’s a good guy.” Scarlet opened up a bit more about her movie premiering at Can, saying that she daydreamed about watching Squib, the elder actress that is the star, struting the red carpet in Can. She thought about that while making the movie. She manifested can. Scarlet shares, “I said to one of my producing partners, Jonathan, if I do my job well and do what I’m supposed to do, I can imagine June walking the CET. I think that’s the big hall with the the palace of fil I don’t even know what the crosset is that that’s actually the street. I think that’s the street leading up to the film hall.” Anyways, I can imagine June walking the crosset at age 95 starring this incredible dramatic role that she’s so amazing in. And I thought that would be my dream. To have it actually become a reality is amazing. I’m still processing it. Well, congratulations and congratulations to Justin Baldon and Wayfairer Studios as well. If the movie wins an Oscar, any Oscar, that would make Justin Baldon an Oscar winner.
