Kim Kardashian Wore $1.5 Million Necklace for Paris Robbery Trial | E! News

Kim Kardashian did not shy away from jewelry for her court appearance in the 2016 Paris robbery trial. After all, the Kardashian star was decked out in an estimated $8 million worth of bling, including an $8,100 diamondstudded 18 karat white gold earcuff from Brian Raymond as she took the stand on May 13th to testify against the suspects accused of robbing her at gunpoint at her hotel room almost 10 years ago. And Kim’s choice of accessories felt very intentional. According to a jewelry expert, Laurel Diamonds’s Laura Taylor shared in a statement. This isn’t just another public appearance. It’s the first time she has come face tof face with the people who tied her up, held her at gunpoint, and store millions worth of jewelry. Today, surrounded by the people who took it from her and made her fear for her life, she’s reclaiming that power. In fact, the skim’s founder wore a large emerald cut diamond ring to the legal proceeding that was almost identical to the 20 karat piece from then husband Kanye West that was stolen and never recovered by authorities. She paired the statement making ring with a diamond necklace and earrings which stood out against her all black outfit. Laura said of Kim, “She’s no longer letting the trauma dictate what she wears or how she shows up. Choosing to wear so much jewelry today while facing the accused and revisiting the events of that night will likely hold deeply emotional significance for her.” The jeweler added, “It’s not about status or showing off. It’s about closure, control, and showing that fear no longer decides how she presents herself.” Indeed, Kim steered clear of dawning flashy gems in the years following the robbery, during which over $10 million worth of jewelry was stolen, as she noted in a 2023 episode of the Kardashians. She was ready to give up wearing diamonds altogether. Kim explained at the time, “After I was robbed in Paris, I haven’t bought jewelry.” In her courtroom testimony, the 44 yearear-old said she was sure that the robbers would kill her when they tied her up and demanded for her jewelry. She told the court, “So, I said a prayer for my family and my mom and my sister and best friend. I absolutely did think I was going to die.” Ultimately, Kim said the intruders left her bound and gagged on the bathroom floor as they made away with her jewels. Five suspects are facing armed robbery and kidnapping charges while five others are charged with complicity in the heist per Reuters, Kim said in a court after an apology note from one of the defendants was read aloud. I’m obviously emotional about it. This experience changed my life and it changed my family’s life. I do appreciate the letter. I forgive you for what has taken place, but it doesn’t change the emotion and the feelings and the trauma. The way my life is forever changed. [Music]

    1. Each time she explained the robbery, not once has the story changed. Ppl talk a lot of shlt but picking a side as long as it's against her shouldn't apply here. Wishing her well w/ the case
