Carrie Underwood & Jessica Simpson Tease Future at ‘American Idol’ Finale (Exclusive)
American Idol named Jamal Roberts its winner on last night’s big finale. And we spoke with Carrie Underwood about her first season as judge. There was no way to go wrong tonight. The top 10 performing tonight were all incredible. Like you there’s nothing else on TV that is like the the caliber of artists that we had compiled here tonight. I know it hasn’t been announced if you’re coming back, but you want to come back for another season. I had a lot of fun for sure. Um, I didn’t know I didn’t know how I would feel about it. And Luke and Lionel are just and the crew like this the people that work on the show are just so easy to be around. Don’t you feel like the three of you should be back next season? I mean, that would be cool. I think we also spoke with Jessica Simpson about her first TV performance in 15 years. It was a good baptism up there. I needed that. I needed that. I needed to get on the stage and do it, you know. And then now I will not stop. This is a whole new era for you. It new era, new music. Truthful for me. Not that everything hasn’t been truthful, but I’m I grew up as a preachers’s daughter. I’m obedient. I did what the record label told me to do. And I had a job to do. And now the job that I’m doing is for myself. No matter what we go through in life, I feel like music heals. And the fact that I’m able to make it is even more healing. What do your kids think about the new music? Do they Oh, they love it. My youngest is my biggest fan cuz she’s my song bird. Her name’s Birdie, so it’s fitting. But she sings at the top of her lungs, belted out, and has an incredible voice. Your fans have been with you for so long now. They would love to see you tour this summer. So would I. Is it happening? I mean, I need somebody to offer me a tour first. [Music]
