The question of whether Prince William will strip Harry and Meghan of their Royal titles if he ascends to the throne has been a hot topic in recent weeks.

Critics have pointed out that Harry’s contradictory position – wanting to step back from Royal duties while retaining his titles and those of his children – devalues these titles.

The Mirror recently asked readers if they think William will strip Harry and Meghan’s titles when he becomes Kin. A staggering 9,806 respondents said yes, they could see that happening.

Meanwhile, only 1,203 believed William would never do such a thing.

Many readers felt that Harry’s actions – including his departure from Royal life and controversial public statements – have made him undeserving of keeping his Royal title.

Some even suggest removing Harry and his children from the line of succession entirely, with one commenter arguing that Harry’s personal desires have consistently overridden his duty to the monarchy.

Another reader believes that King Charles should have already taken action, with many thinking that once king, William would likely strip the titles.

However, a few believe William may hesitate or lack the determination to make such a move.

One reader remarked: “Harry says he wishes he hadn’t been born Royal and yet he clings to the Sussex title, the HRH and the royal titles for his children.

“The Prince and Princess titles should only apply to the children of the Monarch and then only to the direct line of succession. Beatrice and Eugenie should not have these titles any more than Archie and Lilibet.

“Princess Anne and Prince Edward had the right idea. Prince Andrew, who has a misplaced idea of his own status, lobbied the Queen for these titles for his daughters.”

Guinevere commented: “The main aim should be to take Harry and any children he has out of the line of succession. Harry has proved himself unworthy and inappropriate to ever be given a public role in the Monarchy’s team.

“I just think he does not have the brains or personality to put duty to the country ahead of his own personal lifestyle desires.”

Cynicaloap gave his view: “King Charles should do so now. Harry and Meghan chose to quit the Royal Family and move to the USA.”

r1020c observed: “Yes I think (William) would be vindictive enough to do this which would be much to Diana’s horror. All he thinks about is himself. He attacks his own brother yet all everyone can say is ‘Harry is to blame’.”

Djbrown12 shared a different perspective: “He probably will try. Wills has always been jealous of Harry and he is just that petty and vindictive to do so.”

Bluebird highlighted the family dynamics, suggesting: “Harry and William need their backsides paddling! If Queen Diana was still alive she would be ashamed of her boys!

“Harry, William and Charles need to sit down by themselves to sort their issues out. Harry needs to come back home to England.”

It comes after Meghan shared a sweet tribute to Harry by posting many never-before-seen snaps of the Sussex family while marking seven years of marriage.

And, shortly after the duchess paid tribute to her husband on social media, the penultimate episode of her new podcast series, Confessions of a Female Founder, dropped online.

The former actress turned duchess talked about her own path to motherhood and how it differed from the expectations she had beforehand, seemingly nodding to the pressures that came with life in the royal spotlight.

“Before I was a mom, I was ‘Oh gosh, I’m going to give a speech with a baby on my hip,” Meghan said.

“I had a whole vision… but it was not the way I envisioned it.”
