From Timothée Chalamet’s butter yellow Oscars look to Sabrina Carpenter’s unforgettable yellow dress at the 2024 Governors Ball Music Festival, it’s safe to say the sunny hue is having a moment.

While chatting with Forbes in April, Nivek Remas co-founder Samer Shaath explained why so many people are gravitating to the color, which he describes as a softer, more approachable take on yellow.

He revealed, “Butter yellow embodies warmth, comfort, and nostalgia—qualities people are craving right now. Unlike bolder yellows that energize, this softer shade has a grounding effect, fostering a sense of calm and happiness. It subconsciously reminds us of sunlight, fresh blooms, and cozy kitchens—elements that make a space feel welcoming and serene.”
