Meghan Markle got candid about her pre-fame challenges and the road to marrying Prince Harry in her latest podcast episode.

The Duchess of Sussex dropped a new installment of ‘Confessions of a Female Founder’ on Tuesday, inviting Cassandra Thurswell, the entrepreneur behind eco-friendly hair and beauty brand Kitsch.

During the podcast episode, Meghan recounted her acquaintance with Ms. Thurswell that dates back to 2009, courtesy of Thurswell’s cousin, a friend of Meghan. At the time, Meghan was hustling for acting gigs, and Thurswell lent her a helping hand by putting together her outfits, picking out the very shoes Meghan wore to nail her audition for ‘Suits.’

Reflecting on those early days, Meghan reminisced during her show: “You come into my little house that I was renting, and I remember my closet — do you remember that closet door was within the bathroom?”

Thurswell light-heartedly corrected: “Meghan, we’ll call it a bungalow, we’ll be chic.”

Meghan recalled: “I remember going, ‘That’s as much as I pay – I cannot.’ And you go, ‘I promise you, you are going to wear [them].'”

She then explained: “Do you know what’s so funny? Of course, I wore those shoes until the red wore out. I wore those shoes on my final audition for Suits when I booked the part.”

Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, played the role of Rachel Zane, a paralegal, in seven seasons of the popular Netflix series, which aired between 2011 and 2019, exiting the show in 2018 upon marrying Prince Harry and relocating to Britain.
