Harry’s African Charities Have Been Mired In Scandal
Meghan was at the Time100 summit weeks ago to discuss her new failing ventures. She has her Netflix show, “With Love Meghan,” her lifestyle brand, As Ever, and her podcast, “Confessions of a Female Founder.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle managed to make the influential list in 2018 and 2021. The prestigious honor is precisely the type of publicity Meghan craves.
Harry has his Invictus Games, but his other causes have crumbled.Sentable, Harry’s African charity, is mired in scandal.
He had to step down from Sentable a couple of months ago as the chairwoman of the charity, Sophie Chandauka, accused Prince Harry of bullying, harassment, sexism, and racism.
Harry’s other African charity, African Parks, has been accused of committing human rights abuses, and like Sentable, it is also under investigation.
Archewell, Harry and Meghan’s “show up, do good” foundation, has also faced controversy. Archewell has mainly been criticized for making several substantial donations to Democratic organizations.
The Archewell Foundation “runs social impact initiatives combating online harm and promoting good mental health.” However, its perceived political ties tend to interfere with its agenda.
It is also set up more to make Harry and Meghan rich and famous, not to do philanthropy work. As far as being “do-gooders,” the Duke and Duchess of Sussex don’t cut it.
William And Kate Are More Helpful And Don’t Do It For The Publicity
William and Kate have been very focused on critical social issues like homelessness and mental health, and they have been spotlighting innovative solutions to climate change.
The main difference between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the Prince and Princess of Wales is that William and Kate do what they do without expecting accolades or needing a photographer to follow them around and snap pictures of them “doing good.”
William and Kate are far more helpful to people and don’t need to relentlessly “follow the money.” They need no publicity or prizes.
That being said, there appears to be a lack of understanding of what the royals do. Time magazine claimed that William and Kate “are less concerned with cultural preservation,
and are more concerned with social issues,” which is a significant misrepresentation.
William doesn’t care about the pomp and circumstance involved with being part of the royal family. However, he does care about the core aspect of his work.
Part of William’s initiative to help Cornwall is a reflection of the fact that farming has historically been a massive part of British culture for centuries.
While it was an honor for William and Catherine to be on the list, the publication explained their achievements more favorably.
Harry and Meghan are out of touch with the public. They are far more concerned with being seen and validated than helping others and truly making a difference.
Despite charitable missions like their Archewell Foundation, no one really pictures the Sussexes when it comes to selfless works. It’s easy to understand why.
